ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new technique for placing a catheter in the internal jugular vein, which is important for certain medical treatments. The study is comparing a novel method using a Single-operator Laser-assisted T-shaped probe to the traditional ultrasound-guided method. Researchers want to see if the new technique improves the chances of successfully placing the catheter on the first attempt. This is especially important because getting it right the first time can reduce complications and save time.
To participate in this trial, you must be an adult over 18 years old and scheduled for elective surgery that requires an internal jugular vein catheter. However, if you have had a recent attempt at this procedure in the same spot, or if you have certain health conditions like infections or severe heart problems, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to one of the two methods, and both techniques will be performed by experienced doctors. The goal is to make this procedure safer and more effective for patients like you.
