ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding why T4 colorectal cancer, a more advanced stage of colon cancer, often comes back in the same area after treatment. Researchers believe that this type of cancer might spread through the abdominal cavity, but there hasn't been much study on this idea. They want to look at certain markers in blood and fluid from the abdomen to see if they can help predict the risk of the cancer returning. The goal is to find new ways to identify patients at higher risk so that doctors can provide better care.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. You should also have had surgery to remove part of your colon, either as a complete treatment or as a palliative measure. However, if you're under 18, pregnant, on peritoneal dialysis, or don't want to have surgery, you won't be able to take part. If you join the study, you'll undergo tests to help researchers learn more about your cancer and its behavior, which could lead to better treatment options in the future.
