ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to make follow-up visits easier and more efficient for patients with new cochlear implants from Cochlear Americas. The researchers want to find out if it's possible to reduce the number of follow-up appointments without affecting how well the cochlear implants work. They believe that by using a new method called population mean mapping, patients can achieve similar hearing outcomes while spending less time in appointments.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult who has recently chosen a Cochlear Americas device and can perform simple follow-up tasks, like repeating words or completing questionnaires. The trial is open to anyone aged 18 and older who speaks English, but it’s not for those who have other types of cochlear implants or have certain disabilities. If you join, you can expect to have your hearing checked and to answer questions about your experience, all while helping researchers learn how to improve care for future cochlear implant recipients.
