ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help nursing home residents with Alzheimer's disease or similar conditions by using virtual reality (VR) technology. The goal is to create virtual experiences that allow participants to reminisce about their past, exploring familiar places from their hometowns. By doing this, the researchers hope to reduce behavioral issues and enhance the overall quality of life for these residents.
To be eligible for the study, participants must live in long-term care facilities associated with the Amiens-Picardie University Hospital and have mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease, meaning they can still communicate and understand some information. They or their legal representatives will need to agree to take part in the study. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those chosen will engage in interactive VR reminiscence workshops that aim to bring joy and comfort through shared memories and experiences.
