ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to identify the sources of thromboembolic strokes, which occur when blood clots block blood flow to the brain. Researchers want to see if a special imaging technique called NaF PET-CT can help detect dangerous plaques in arteries that might lead to these strokes. By pinpointing these plaques, doctors can improve care for patients who have recently experienced a stroke.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have had a non-cardiogenic thromboembolic stroke within the last two weeks. Those with other types of strokes or who are not stable enough for the PET-CT scan will not be eligible. If accepted into the study, participants will undergo the imaging test to help researchers understand how this method could enhance stroke management. This trial is currently in the early stages and has not started recruiting participants yet.
