ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, known as the Healthy Volunteers Study, is looking into how the bacteria in our bodies and their byproducts might help in detecting ovarian cancer early. The researchers will collect vaginal swabs and stool samples from healthy women—those who do not have ovarian cancer and do not have certain genetic risks for the disease. These samples will be compared with those from women who have a higher risk of ovarian cancer or who have already been diagnosed with it. By understanding these differences, the study aims to improve early detection methods for ovarian cancer.
To participate in this trial, women need to be between 18 and 62 years old and must have ovaries. However, those with specific genetic mutations that increase the risk of ovarian cancer, a history of cancer, or certain health conditions like hormone replacement therapy or recent antibiotic use will not be eligible. If you choose to join, you can expect to provide samples and possibly contribute to important research that may help in understanding ovarian cancer better. The study is currently recruiting participants, so if you meet the criteria and are interested, this could be a valuable opportunity to help advance medical knowledge.
