ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Outcomes Following Limb Sparing Surgery for Soft Tissue Sarcoma," aims to understand how patients feel about their body image, quality of life, and their ability to move after having surgery to remove soft tissue sarcoma from their arms or legs. Researchers want to see how factors like radiotherapy and ethnicity may affect these outcomes. The study will involve patients who had surgery at the Amsterdam UMC between 2010 and 2021.

To participate, patients must have undergone surgery for a specific type of cancer and be able to visit the Amsterdam UMC once or twice. Those who are pregnant will need to wait until five months after giving birth to participate. Participants will complete some questionnaires, have a physical exam, and undergo tests to assess their walking ability and muscle strength. They will also have MRI scans to look at changes in muscle volume before and after surgery. This study is a good opportunity to contribute to understanding how surgery impacts life after treatment.
