ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help people recover their sense of touch and movement in their arms after having a stroke. Participants aged 18 to 80, who are at least one month post-stroke and have a mild to moderate understanding of cognitive tasks, may be eligible to join the study. Those who qualify will be divided into two groups: one will receive standard rehabilitation, while the other will also get special training that uses electrical stimulation to simulate different textures, aiming to enhance their sensory and motor recovery.
Throughout the trial, participants will undergo assessments to measure their sensory function before and after the training using various tests. It's important to note that individuals with specific conditions, such as severe depression or very limited movement in their arms, will not be eligible to participate. Overall, this study seeks to explore whether this innovative sensory training can improve recovery outcomes for stroke survivors.
