ClinConnect Summary

This study is looking at how well a computer program, called GPT-4o, can evaluate the home environments of elderly people compared to a professional occupational therapist. The goal is to see if the program can provide helpful suggestions for making homes safer and more comfortable for individuals aged 65 and older. Participants will have their homes assessed through photos taken in seven different areas, like hallways and kitchens. Both the computer program and the therapist will use a specific assessment tool to evaluate the photos and suggest improvements.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 65 years old, live in their home for a long period, and have good listening and speaking skills. Those who do not regularly live in their home will not be included. If you or a family member participates, you can expect to have your home assessed and receive recommendations for how to make it a better place to live. This study aims to improve understanding of how technology can help support the elderly in their living environments.
