ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of placing a breathing tube in patients who need surgery on their ears, nose, or throat. The goal is to see which method works better on the first try. One group of participants will have the tube placed using a special video tool called a videolaryngoscope, while the other group will use a flexible bronchoscope, which is a thin tube with a camera. The researchers will track how successful each method is on the first attempt and look for any side effects, like a sore throat or hoarseness, after the procedure.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be adults aged 19 or older who are scheduled for specific types of ENT surgeries that require this type of intubation. Certain individuals may not be able to join, such as those who have had prior surgeries affecting their airway, have severe acid reflux, or have very loose teeth. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it will provide important information on how to ensure safer intubation for patients undergoing these surgeries.
