ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new type of therapy using extended reality (XR), which includes virtual reality experiences, to see if it can help patients with long-term mental health conditions like schizophrenia. The main focus is on whether this XR therapy can improve patients’ motivation to engage in leisure activities, enhance their emotional coping skills, and boost their overall psychological health. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will use the XR program, which offers engaging virtual activities based on their interests, while the other will continue with typical hospital activities like art or music sessions.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 20 to 65 who have been hospitalized for at least six months and are stable in their mental health condition. They should be able to walk and communicate, and their mental ability should be intact. Over six weeks, those in the XR group will attend weekly sessions lasting 40 minutes. Researchers will gather information through surveys and interviews to understand how the XR therapy affects motivation, coping skills, and overall enjoyment of leisure activities.
