ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to monitor blood pressure during carotid endarterectomy surgery, which is an operation to clear blocked arteries in the neck. Traditionally, doctors use a small tube called an arterial catheter to measure blood pressure continuously. This method can be uncomfortable for patients and carries some risks. The trial is exploring whether a non-invasive device, called a digital cuff, can provide a safer and more comfortable way to monitor blood pressure by measuring the pulse without needing to insert anything into the body.
To participate in this trial, patients must be over 18 years old and scheduled for carotid endarterectomy surgery under general anesthesia. They should also be able to understand the study and agree to participate. Participants will receive the standard care, including the arterial catheter, but will also have the digital cuff to measure their blood pressure on the same side. This trial aims to compare the blood pressure readings from both methods to see if they give similar results. It’s important to note that the trial is not yet recruiting participants, and the findings could help improve care for future patients undergoing this surgery.
