ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), which can occur after patients receive a special dye called iodinated contrast during certain medical procedures, like angiograms. CIN can lead to kidney problems, particularly in patients who already have risk factors such as diabetes or existing kidney issues. The study aims to understand how often CIN happens among patients at Sohag University Hospitals who have received intravenous contrast, by monitoring changes in their blood test results related to kidney function.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have undergone a single intravenous contrast procedure. However, those with severe kidney disease, certain heart conditions, or a history of allergic reactions to contrast dye are not eligible. Participants will have their kidney function monitored over the days following the procedure to see if there are any changes. This research is important because understanding how common CIN is can help doctors take better care of their patients and prevent kidney damage in those at risk.
