ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how pressure splints can help improve movement and function in the legs of patients who have hemiplegia, which means they have weakness or paralysis on one side of their body due to a stroke. The researchers want to see if these specialized devices, which gently support the affected limbs, can make a difference during rehabilitation exercises. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will use the pressure splints while exercising, and the other group will do the same exercises without the splints. The trial will last for six weeks, and during this time, all participants will receive therapy designed to help improve their movement.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 50 and 80 years old, have experienced a stroke within the last month to year, and be able to participate actively in the exercises. However, those with severe cognitive impairments or other serious health issues won't be able to join. This trial could lead to new ways to help stroke patients recover and improve their rehabilitation options, making it an important step in stroke recovery research.
