ClinConnect Summary
The "Inspire HER" clinical trial is focused on improving heart health for Black women, who often face greater health challenges and shorter lifespans compared to other groups. This study will provide a special program that includes health education, physical activity, and social support to help participants make healthier lifestyle choices. Researchers will also compare how women respond to stress differently than men by looking at data from a similar program designed for Black men. This trial is part of a broader effort to promote heart health equity.
To participate in the trial, women need to be Black, between the ages of 30 and 79, and living in the Birmingham, AL area. They should have certain health conditions related to heart and kidney health, but must not have any restrictions on physical activity set by their healthcare provider. While the study is not recruiting participants yet, those who join can expect to engage in activities that support their heart health and connect with others in the community.
