ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a treatment called cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) to see if it can help improve the thinking abilities, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality of patients with chronic mental illnesses who live in nursing homes. The goal is to enhance their overall quality of life. To participate, individuals must have a chronic mental illness, be able to communicate effectively, have completed at least junior high school, and score 16 or higher on a simple mental test. However, those who might pose a risk of violence or suicide, or who have significant cognitive impairments, cannot take part in the study.
Participants will undergo CES treatment five times a week for three months and will need to fill out a questionnaire before and after the treatment to share their experiences. If any discomfort occurs during the sessions, the treatment will stop immediately for safety. Participants who complete the study will receive a gift voucher as a thank you for their time. All personal information will be kept private to protect their identity. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should consider discussing it with a healthcare provider.
