ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new way for nurses in outpatient clinics to communicate better with patients, especially when things don’t go as planned. The study is combining two communication models: CARE, which focuses on connecting, apologizing, repairing, and exceeding patient expectations, and AIDET, which teaches nurses to acknowledge patients, introduce themselves, explain how long things will take, and thank patients for their understanding. The goal is to see if this new combined approach can help nurses provide better service recovery when issues arise.
To be eligible for this study, nurses need to have worked in the clinic for at least six months and be willing to volunteer and sign a consent form. Nurses on leave or in training, or those experiencing mental health challenges, cannot participate. The researchers are currently looking for participants and have already included 75 nurses in the study. By participating, nurses can expect to learn new communication skills that may improve their interactions with patients and enhance overall patient satisfaction.
