ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether a technique called kinesiotaping can help improve lung function and overall physical ability in stroke patients who have hemiplegia, which is paralysis on one side of the body. The study will involve 30 participants aged 45 to 80 who have experienced a stroke within the last six months and are medically stable. Participants will be randomly divided into two groups: one will receive kinesiotaping on their chest area along with regular rehabilitation, while the other group will receive a similar taping without any tension, known as sham taping.
Over a four-week period, researchers will assess the participants' lung capacity, strength of their breathing muscles, and overall physical performance before and after the intervention. To be eligible, participants must have a stroke diagnosis and be able to voluntarily participate. However, those with other serious health issues or skin sensitivities related to the taping will not be included. This study aims to find out if kinesiotaping can provide additional benefits for stroke recovery, which could lead to better care options for patients in the future.
