ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of cranial osteopathy on preterm babies, specifically looking at their sensory development, sleep quality, and motor skills. The researchers will have two groups of participants, each with 15 babies who were born prematurely (between 28 and 37 weeks) and are no more than six weeks old. One group will receive six weekly osteopathy sessions, while both groups will follow a home exercise plan. After six weeks, the babies' progress will be evaluated.
To be eligible for this study, babies must have been born prematurely but are now stable and discharged to home care. Families need to agree to participate and commit to completing the home program. However, babies with certain health issues, like heart problems or those using breathing machines, cannot join. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it offers an exciting opportunity to explore how osteopathy might help improve the well-being of preterm infants.
