ClinConnect Summary
The Cocooned Moms Study is a research project designed to help expectant Black women by reducing stress, depression, and blood pressure during pregnancy. This study offers free access to a mobile app called InovCares, which provides support tailored to the needs of Black mothers. The app includes resources like therapy techniques, peer support, and tools to help manage mental health and well-being. Researchers will look at how these resources affect participants' stress levels, mood, sleep quality, and blood pressure throughout their pregnancy.
To be eligible for this study, women must be Black, at least 18 years old, and currently pregnant between 8 to 28 weeks, with no serious health concerns regarding the baby. Participants should be able to speak English and have the ability to understand and consent to the study. Unfortunately, women diagnosed with psychosis, those who do not speak English, and individuals with significant vision impairments cannot participate. This study is an exciting opportunity for eligible women to receive support and resources during their pregnancy journey.
