ClinConnect Summary

The ICOPE Brazil study is a clinical trial that seeks to learn more about how older adults in Brazil age, particularly focusing on their overall health and ability to perform daily activities. The study will assess various aspects of health, including mobility (how well people can move), cognitive ability (thinking and memory), nutrition, vision, hearing, and mental health. This research is in line with recommendations from the World Health Organization to help provide better care for older adults. Participants will be monitored for three years to see how these factors change over time and to identify issues like frailty, falls, or hospitalization.

To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 60 years old and registered with a participating health care unit. They should be able to visit the study sites for assessments. However, those with severe cognitive issues, advanced illnesses, or who cannot reach the study locations will not be included. If you take part, you can expect to undergo a series of tests and questionnaires to help researchers understand how to support healthy aging in older adults. This study will contribute valuable information that could improve the lives of many seniors in Brazil.
