ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Sleep, Glucose, and Brain Health in Obesity and Overweight Individuals," aims to understand how sleep patterns affect blood sugar control and brain health in middle-aged adults who are overweight or have obesity. Researchers will look at participants' sleep habits over two weeks and again after one year to see if there are any connections between sleep quality, blood sugar levels, and cognitive function. The goal is to find ways to improve both metabolic health (how our bodies process sugar) and brain health through better sleep.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 40 and 65 years old and have a body weight classified as normal, overweight, or obese. They should not be pregnant, have diabetes, or take certain medications that affect blood sugar or sleep. Participants will need to wear monitoring devices and have a smartphone with Bluetooth. The trial is not yet recruiting, but it offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to research that could help improve health outcomes for people with sleep and weight challenges.
