ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how listening to music during labor affects anxiety, pain, and overall satisfaction for women giving birth. The researchers want to find out if playing music can help make the experience less stressful and more enjoyable compared to not having music at all. They will compare two groups: one group will listen to music for 10 minutes, while the other group will not listen to any music. Participants will be asked questions about their feelings of anxiety and pain at different times during their stay in the labor and delivery unit.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, either in labor or scheduled to start labor, and able to give their consent to participate. They should also have a certain level of physical health. However, women who refuse to participate, have hearing difficulties, take daily anxiety medication, or have certain medical conditions will not be included. Participants can expect to listen to music or enjoy the quiet for a short time and then share their thoughts on how they felt during labor. This study aims to help improve the birthing experience for future mothers by understanding the role of music in this setting.
