ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how resistance exercise, like weight training, can affect the health of patients with choroidal melanoma (CM) during their hospital stay for treatment. CM is a type of eye cancer that can require patients to be hospitalized in isolation for about a week while they receive a specific treatment called plaque brachytherapy. The study aims to see if doing resistance exercises during this time can improve important health markers in the blood, as well as enhance physical function, quality of life, and reduce feelings of anxiety and depression.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult diagnosed with choroidal melanoma and undergoing treatment at the Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe in Valencia. However, you may not be eligible if you have certain health issues that prevent you from doing high-intensity exercise, such as serious heart problems, significant metabolic disorders, or major orthopedic issues that make it hard to exercise. If you join the trial, you can expect to engage in a structured exercise program while being monitored by healthcare professionals, helping you stay active during your treatment and potentially improving your overall well-being.
