ClinConnect Summary
The PI-SUAS trial is studying the impact of enhanced home visits on early childhood development for families with young children in Brazil. This research focuses on children aged 18 to 20 months who are part of vulnerable populations and are not currently enrolled in the program. Families will be randomly assigned to either receive special home visits that provide tailored support for parenting and child development or continue with standard social assistance services. The goal is to see if these enhanced visits can improve children's cognitive, language, and emotional skills.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be enrolled in a social assistance program, like Bolsa Família, which helps families in need. Participants can expect to receive support and resources designed to promote positive interactions between caregivers and their children over the course of 12 months. This trial aims to gather important information that could shape future policies and improve early childhood programs worldwide, helping to ensure that all children get the nurturing environment they need to thrive.
