ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the Intervention Project to Increase Adherence to Colorectal Cancer Screening, is focused on improving how many people get screened for colon and rectal cancer in the Barcelos and Esposende areas. The study is looking for participants aged 50 to 74 years who are registered with the local health service and do not have any recent symptoms or previous diagnoses related to colorectal cancer. To be eligible, participants should not have had certain tests or procedures related to colorectal cancer in the last couple of years, and they should not have a strong family history of this disease.

If you decide to join the trial, you will be placed in one of two groups. One group will receive helpful reminders through text messages and phone calls, while the other group will not receive these reminders. The goal is to see if these reminders can encourage more people to get screened for colorectal cancer, which is important for early detection and treatment. Participants can expect to receive support and communication throughout the study, and they will help researchers understand how to improve screening rates in the community.
