ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the differences in complications, known as flare-ups, that patients may experience after receiving root canal treatment (RCT) in either one visit or multiple visits. The research will take place at Saidu College of Dentistry in Swat and will involve 344 patients aged 10 to 60 years who need a root canal on their permanent first molars. To qualify for the study, patients should have deep tooth decay that is affecting the pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth), but their teeth must not have severe issues like infections or major bone loss.
Participants in the trial will be randomly divided into two groups: one group will receive their root canal treatment in a single visit, while the other group will have the treatment spread over multiple visits. After the treatment, their pain levels and any swelling will be monitored at different times to see how often flare-ups occur that might need extra care. This research aims to help dentists in the area determine the best approach for root canal treatments based on real patient experiences. If you or a family member are considering participating, it's important to know that certain health conditions and treatments may exclude someone from joining the study.
