ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to help manage visceral pain, which is a type of pain that can occur after laparoscopic bariatric surgery. This pain is different from the pain you might feel from an incision and can lead to issues like nausea and vomiting. The researchers are testing a combination of two techniques, called paragastric neural blockade and a transversus abdominis plane block, to see if they can better control this type of pain during and after surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between the ages of 20 and 50, have a body mass index (BMI) between 35 and 50, and be in generally good health (classified as ASA class I to III). However, individuals with certain health issues, such as severe heart problems, chronic kidney disease, or allergies to specific medications, will not be able to participate. If you join this trial, you can expect to receive these new pain management techniques during your surgery and to help researchers learn more about how to improve recovery for future patients.
