Telerehabilitation Telehealth Physical Therapy Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rehabilitation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at a new way to help people recover from knee surgery, specifically for those who have had surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The study will use a telehealth platform, which means patients can receive physical therapy sessions through video calls instead of having to go to a clinic. This could be particularly helpful for patients living in rural areas who may have trouble accessing in-person therapy. The goal is to see if this method can make it easier for patients to get the rehabilitation they need after surgery.

To be eligible, participants must be scheduled for ACL reconstruction surgery. However, they cannot have severe vision problems, must own a phone with internet access, and should not have been advised by their doctor to avoid physical therapy. During the trial, both patients and their physical therapists will provide feedback on their experiences to help researchers understand how well this telehealth approach works. It’s important to note that participation is voluntary, and patients can be removed from the study if their therapist decides it's not suitable for them at any point.
