ClinConnect Summary
The "Life Monitoring for Rural Older Adults" trial aims to improve the health and well-being of older adults living in rural areas of Spain, particularly those aged 60 and above. As the population ages and more people move away from these smaller communities, it becomes increasingly important to ensure that older adults receive the healthcare they need. This study will test a new system that continuously monitors the health of participants using a variety of tools, such as measuring heart health, blood pressure, physical strength, and nutrition. The goal is to help detect health issues early, reduce hospital visits, and combat feelings of isolation among older adults.
To take part in this trial, participants must be at least 60 years old and live in a rural area with fewer than 20,000 residents in the Diputación de Valladolid. However, those with significant memory issues or who have been hospitalized for a week or more in the month before joining will not be eligible. Participants can expect to use a comprehensive health assessment kit, which will help healthcare providers understand their health better and provide tailored support. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it highlights the importance of accessible healthcare for older adults in rural communities.
