ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on testing a new training tool called the Virtual Laparoscopic Hiatal Hernia Simulator (VLaHHS), designed to help surgical residents learn how to perform laparoscopic surgeries more effectively. The main goal is to see how well this simulator prepares residents for real-life procedures by measuring their skills and comparing them to those who haven’t used the simulator. The study will involve several phases, including surveys to understand current training methods, developing training scenarios, and finally assessing how well residents learn and apply their skills using the simulator.
To participate in this trial, you need to be a General Surgery resident, as the study is specifically aimed at individuals in that program. Participants will engage in training sessions with the simulator and will be compared to a control group that does not receive this training. The researchers hope to find that those trained with the VLaHHS will show significant improvements in their surgical skills. It’s an exciting opportunity for residents to enhance their training in a controlled and supportive environment.
