ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating whether watching an educational video after a specific prostate surgery called Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) can help patients better understand their post-operative care and improve their satisfaction with the treatment. Patients who are scheduled for this surgery at UCSF will be randomly divided into two groups: one group will watch a video that explains what to expect after the procedure, while the other group will not receive this video. The researchers will then look at how often patients need to return for additional care and how satisfied they feel with their overall experience.
To join this study, participants must be adult men who are 18 years or older and scheduled for the HoLEP procedure. They should be able to understand and communicate in English and agree to complete some surveys before and after the surgery. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve the care and information available to patients undergoing HoLEP, making their recovery smoother and more satisfying.
