ClinConnect Summary
The Zithandani Stepping Stones and Creating Futures study is looking at ways to help young couples, aged 18 to 40, who are dealing with issues related to intimate partner violence (IPV), communication, and mental health. This research will see if the program is easy to deliver, accepted by participants, safe for women, and if it can help improve important areas in their lives, like relationships and livelihoods. Couples will join together for 14 sessions, each lasting about 3 hours, where they will discuss topics like gender roles and communication skills.
To participate, couples must have been in a public relationship for at least 6 months, live in the eThekwini area, and not be in full-time work or education. They should also be comfortable communicating in English, isiXhosa, or isiZulu. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to create a supportive environment for young couples to learn and grow together. If you're interested or think you might qualify, keep an eye out for more information on how to get involved!
