ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving how patients with psychotic disorders understand the informed consent process for participating in research studies. Informed consent means that patients need to understand what they are agreeing to when they join a study. This trial aims to find better ways to explain research details using tools like videos and audio aids, making it easier for patients to understand and make informed choices. The researchers will evaluate if these multimedia tools help patients grasp the information better compared to traditional paper forms.
To participate in the trial, individuals aged 18 to 60 with a psychotic disorder who struggle to understand consent information may be eligible. However, those who do not speak English or Luganda will not be included. Participants can expect to be part of different studies that assess their understanding, develop helpful multimedia tools, and test how effective these tools are in enhancing their comprehension. Overall, this research aims to ensure that patients are fully informed and comfortable when considering participation in mental health research.
