ClinConnect Summary
The PRIORITY-CONNECT 2 Trial is a research study designed to see if a special support program can help patients recover better after surgery for colorectal cancer. The program includes education about health and wellness, as well as group support from peers, all delivered through an online platform. Researchers want to find out if this approach can reduce complications after surgery compared to standard care, which is what patients usually receive.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be adults aged 18 or older who are scheduled for major surgery to treat colon or rectal cancer. They should also have a consultation with a colorectal surgeon at least one week before their surgery. If someone joins the study, they will either receive the new support program or just the usual care. Throughout the study, participants will be asked about their recovery, quality of life, and how often they need to visit the hospital after their surgery. This trial aims to help improve recovery experiences for future colorectal cancer patients.
