ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the "Online MedEd Intern Bootcamp," aims to help first-year medical residents manage burnout, which is a common issue in the demanding early stages of their careers. The study will take place at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem and is looking for new residents starting in July 2025 in various specialties like Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Surgery. To participate, you must be a first-year resident who has not completed any previous training in the U.S.
Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will have immediate access to a web-based training program that includes peer-led online sessions focusing on mental health, time management, and other important skills. The other group will go through the usual orientation without the Bootcamp resources until the study is complete. Over the course of six months, participants will fill out surveys to assess their levels of burnout and overall well-being. The results of this trial will help improve future training programs and support for new medical residents.
