ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different methods for treating acne scars, specifically atrophic scars, which are indentations left on the skin after acne has healed. The study compares the effectiveness of microneedling combined with platelet-rich plasma (a treatment using components from your own blood) to microneedling paired with topical insulin. The goal is to see which method works better for improving the appearance of these scars.
If you're between the ages of 18 and 62 and have post-acne scars, you may be eligible to participate in this study, as long as you haven't had any scar treatments in the past six months and don't have active acne or certain skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Participants can expect to undergo one of the two treatment methods and will be monitored for results. It's important to note that individuals who are pregnant, have a history of keloids (thick scars), or have issues with blood sugar or bleeding disorders cannot take part in this trial.
