ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of two different types of plates used to fix broken bones in the jaw, specifically in the sub-condylar area. One type is a standard titanium plate, while the other is a custom-made 3D plate designed to fit the specific shape of the patient's jaw. The researchers want to see which plate works better in helping patients heal, restoring normal bite function, and ensuring the bones are properly aligned after the injury.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between 18 and 60 years old and have a recent displaced fracture in the jaw that requires surgical treatment. Participants should be able to follow up with the study after their surgery. However, those with more complicated fractures, severe health issues affecting healing, or prior jaw surgeries will not be eligible. If you join the trial, you'll be closely monitored to compare how well each type of plate helps with your recovery. This research could help improve treatment options for future patients with similar injuries.
