ClinConnect Summary
The "Personalized Performance Optimization Platform" trial is studying how to help astronauts perform their best during long space missions, like those to the Moon or Mars. These missions can be tough due to stressors like lack of sleep, limited social interaction, and communication delays with support teams back on Earth. To tackle these challenges, researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are developing a new technology that can adapt the working environment onboard based on real-time feedback from sensors monitoring the astronauts' health and performance.
If you're between the ages of 18 and 64, have normal or corrected vision and hearing, and are willing to participate, you may be eligible for this study. Participants will need to be able to sit still and stay awake during the sessions. It’s important to know that those with neurological or psychiatric disorders cannot join, and if you've already participated in a related study, you won't be eligible due to the specific learning involved in the tests. By joining this study, you’ll be contributing to crucial research that aims to enhance the well-being and performance of future space explorers.
