ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to help patients with cholecystitis, which is an infection of the gallbladder. When surgery isn’t an option, doctors can use special devices called lumen apposing metal stents to drain the gallbladder. However, placing these stents can be tricky. Researchers have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that assists doctors in correctly positioning these stents, making the procedure easier and safer. The main goal of this study is to see how well this AI can help doctors in the process.

To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and likely to have an endoscopic ultrasound, which is a test that uses sound waves to see inside your body. You also need to have a gallbladder. However, if you have already had your gallbladder removed or don’t need an endoscopic ultrasound, you won’t be eligible for this study. If you join, you can expect to receive care as usual, but your doctor will also use the AI tool to assist with the stent placement if needed. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should discuss it with their healthcare provider.
