ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a special technology called surface electromyography (EMG), which uses small sensor stickers to measure electrical activity in the muscles. Researchers want to see how well a type of pain relief known as regional anesthesia (nerve block) is working during surgery. The device being tested is not yet approved for regular use but is being used here to help us learn how to make nerve blocks safer and more effective for patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be 21 years old or younger and scheduled for surgery where they will receive both general anesthesia and a nerve block. If you decide to participate, the EMG stickers will be placed on your arms or legs before surgery and will stay on during the operation and part of your recovery. The study involves just one visit that includes the time spent in the pre-operative area, during surgery, and into the recovery period. Please note that some individuals, such as those over 21, or with certain medical conditions, may not be able to join this study.
