ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a treatment method called the Guided Growth Technique to help children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) who have a condition known as hip subluxation. The goal of the study is to see how this technique can improve the angle of the thigh bone in children aged 3 to 12 years, specifically those who have a certain degree of hip displacement but are not severely affected.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be between 3 and 12 years old, diagnosed with CP, and have a specific angle in their thigh bone that is greater than 150 degrees. They should also have early signs of hip subluxation, meaning their hip is not fully in place but is still at a manageable level. Unfortunately, children with more severe hip issues or other medical conditions that could complicate surgery won't be able to participate. If chosen for the trial, participants will undergo a procedure involving screws that help guide the growth of the hip joint. This study is not yet recruiting, so it's a great opportunity for families to learn about potential new treatments for hip issues in CP.
