ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring whether an online exercise program can be a helpful and accessible way for adults with cerebral palsy (CP) to stay active. Many adults with CP struggle to find exercise options that suit their needs due to challenges like limited mobility or a lack of available programs. The study will involve 60 adults with CP who will be split into two groups. One group will participate in an 8-week online exercise and education program, while the other group will receive educational materials and information about exercises after the program ends. Researchers will look at how many people attend the sessions, how engaged they are, and any changes in their health and well-being.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and living on the island of Ireland. They can have any level of mobility impairment and can include those with mild-to-moderate intellectual disabilities, as long as they can access the online platform. However, individuals with severe intellectual disabilities or unstable medical conditions cannot participate. This study aims to gather valuable feedback on the online program, which could help design better exercise options for adults with CP in the future, ultimately improving their quality of life.
