ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how vagus nerve stimulation may help improve muscle strength and balance in younger athletes who are not competing at a professional level. The researchers want to find out if this treatment can enhance how well these athletes perform physically. The study will involve participants aged 18 to 35 who exercise regularly, at least 2 to 5 days a week for about 3 hours in total. To qualify, they must have a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 25, which means they fall within a healthy weight range.
Participants in the trial will be divided into two groups: one that receives vagus nerve stimulation and another that does not. This way, researchers can compare the results to see if the stimulation really makes a difference in muscle and balance performance. It's important to note that individuals with certain health issues, especially related to the ear or chronic musculoskeletal diseases, will not be eligible to join the study. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how this treatment could benefit athletes in the future.
