ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial aims to investigate how often CT scans are used in adult emergency departments and whether their use is truly necessary. CT scans are important diagnostic tools that help doctors identify various medical issues quickly, but they can also be expensive and expose patients to radiation, which carries some risks. Additionally, each CT scan contributes to environmental concerns by generating carbon dioxide. Therefore, the study seeks to understand if these scans are being performed according to established medical guidelines and if they lead to better patient care.

To participate in this study, you need to be an adult over 18 years old and have undergone a CT scan in the emergency department at Hôpital Sainte Musse in 2024. The researchers will look at how often these scans were justified based on medical guidelines, if they changed how the patient was treated, and if they were requested by a specialist. The goal is to ensure that CT scans are used appropriately, balancing their benefits against potential risks to patients. If you decide to take part, you will help the team understand and improve the use of CT scans in emergency medicine.
