ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand the needs of patients who often visit the emergency department (ED) and the challenges faced by the staff who assist them. Researchers will conduct interviews with 10 patients who frequently use the ED and 10 staff members, such as doctors and nurses, to learn about their experiences and what could be improved in the care they receive or provide.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have visited the Blackburn Royal Teaching Hospital's emergency department at least five times in the past year. Staff members who work in the emergency department are also invited to participate, but those under 18 or who haven't met the visit criteria will not be included. Participants can expect to share their thoughts and experiences in a comfortable interview setting, helping to shape future care for patients in emergency situations. This study aims to highlight important areas for improvement in emergency care for those who need it most.
