ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different methods of accessing the blood vessels in the wrist affect hand function in patients undergoing heart procedures. Specifically, it compares two approaches: using the distal radial artery (a location further down the wrist) versus the traditional radial artery (located higher up). Researchers want to find out if one method leads to less hand dysfunction after procedures for patients with coronary artery disease, which is a condition that affects the blood flow to the heart.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between the ages of 65 and 90 and have a reason to undergo heart diagnosis or treatment. You also need to have a detectable pulse in both the distal and conventional radial arteries and be able to follow the study guidelines. If you are younger than 18 or older than 90, or if you have certain health issues or are involved in other competing studies, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive careful monitoring and support throughout the process as researchers gather valuable information to improve heart care.
