ClinConnect Summary

The FearLess in NeuroOncology trial is a study looking at how to best support patients with primary malignant brain tumors, like glioblastoma and astrocytoma, and their caregivers. The main goal is to understand how well different ways of reaching out to potential participants work and to finalize the study design. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it begins, it will focus on people aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with a primary malignant brain tumor and are more than two weeks post-surgery. Caregivers who support these patients can also participate if they meet certain criteria.

To join the study, patients need to be able to speak English, have a high level of fear about their cancer coming back, and not have any cognitive issues that would prevent them from participating in the study's activities. Participants will likely engage in virtual sessions, where they will receive support and share their experiences. It's important to note that anyone who cannot access stable internet for these sessions will not be able to take part in the study. This trial aims to find effective ways to help both patients and their caregivers cope with their fears and challenges during this difficult time.
