ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well patients who received a lumbar disc prosthesis—an artificial disc that replaces a damaged disc in the lower back—are able to return to work after at least five years. The goal is to find out how many people have gone back to their original job, how many have had to change jobs, and how many are not able to work at all due to their condition. This research is important because traditional surgery for back problems often limits patients' ability to return to work, while a disc prosthesis aims to maintain movement in the spine, potentially allowing for a better recovery.
To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have specific back issues like a herniated or degenerative disc. However, if you have had previous back surgeries, like a discectomy or spinal fusion, you won't be able to join this study. If you are eligible and choose to participate, you will help researchers understand the long-term benefits of this treatment, which could ultimately improve care for future patients with similar back problems.
