ClinConnect Summary
This is a randomized interventional study looking at whether sleep hygiene education—taught using a health-promotion approach—can improve sleep quality and menopausal symptoms in women who are past menopause. Participants are randomly assigned to either a training group that receives this education or a control group with no training. The study uses a short series of interviews and activities: two training sessions one week apart, a sleep diary and booklet, and a follow-up data collection about four weeks after the second session. Sleep quality and menopausal symptoms are measured at baseline and after the follow-up using two standard questionnaires.
Who can participate and what to expect: The study is for adult women aged 45–59 who have not had a menstrual period for at least 12 consecutive months, can communicate well, use a mobile phone, and are able to read and write. They must not be using sleeping pills or sleep supplements. The study is being conducted at Inonu University in Malatya, Turkey, and plans to enroll about 70 participants. If you join, you’ll have two brief training sessions (about 15–20 minutes each), keep a sleep diary, and complete questionnaires about sleep and menopausal symptoms. Results from the trial aren’t available yet.
